Julie Lin

See Julie cooking live in the Summer Kitchen at our BBC Good Food Show Summer on Friday 14 June BOOK NOW!

Julie is a seasoned (if you’ll pardon the pun!) chef, TV and radio broadcaster, restaurant owner, industry award winner and featured cook – she’s even had the joy of cooking lunch for Dame Judi Dench!

Passionate about holding the door open for other women in the industry and passing the baton on to the next generation, Julie is a huge champion of fellow female chefs and entrepreneurs, alongside teaching cookery lessons to school children local to her in Glasgow.

She takes great pride in pulling inspiration from her Malaysian-Scottish roots to develop the South East Asian and Malaysian cooking she is known for, and is currently working on her first recipe book.

Her culinary career kicked off in 2014 on MasterChef, where she reached the quarterfinals. After doing time at Café Strange Brew and Babu Kitchen, she opened a tiny popup down a bin alley, which nevertheless drew the crowds. Currently she heads up GaGa Glasgow – the Malaysian diner whose IG can be followed here
